| The ancient Roman walled city of Side stands on a peninsular flanked by glorious beaches of golden sand. It was the one time trysting place of Antony and Cleopatra and the ruins of ancient Hellenistic port survive. The grandeur of ancient Side's historic remains are well preserved. The city walls have a number of towers still intact and the 20.000 seat amphitheatre, supported by arched vaults then built in to a hillside, is a magnificent sight. Side's vast sandy beaches gently shelve into the warm, clear sea .To the west os the peninsular; the beach stretches for about 10 km and to the east, the sands are emptier and stretch all the way to Alanya. Watersports abound in high season including para sailing and wind surfing and the further from the town you go the quieter the beach becomes. |  |

| There's no shortage of places
to shop, eat and drink. Colourful shops friendly bars and wide choices of restaurants are
located in the colonnaded main streets and narrow alleyways of the resort centre. For a romantic evening, sample some excellent swordfish in one of the superb waterfront restaurants. Nightlife can be as lively and energetic as you choose with variety of bars and eve a couple of discos. The unique atmosphere of a colourful, charming village within an ancient sight and beautiful sandy beaches promises a holiday full of pleasant surprises. |
| Selge is in the north of Manavgat, on the Antalya-Alanya highway, where the Selge signpost will be seen, after which it is a further 55 km. The road is good until Koprulu Canyon, but for the last 12 km. after the ancient bridge, a jeep-type vehicle is recommended. It is particularly beautiful in the area of the Koprulu Canyon. Built at 950 m. above sea level, Selge was a Psidia mountain settlement. The best preserved building is the theater, and the city walls, the tower, the cisterns, the stadium and the necropolis are worth seeing. |
